A Girlfriend Spotted on the Red Carpet

Well, who do we have here?  None other than Persia White, Lynn from ‘Girlfriends’.  Persia attended the 23rd Genesis Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.

It is good to see a cast member of one of my all time favorite sitcoms.  I usually don’t like the heavily tattooed look on females, but somehow, it seems to work on Persia.  I guess it may be her whole hippy, bohemian vibe that allows her to pull off the tattoos.  Hopefully, the tats won’t hinder her acting roles.

Do you think Persia carries the tattooed look well or is it a no-no for women?  Speak on it…

Mariah Celebrates 39th B-Day in Barbados

Mariah’s 39th birthday was Friday.  She and husband, Nick Cannon, celebrated in Barbados.   They were acting like newlyweds, even though they will celebrate one year of marriage April 30. 

I will be the first to admit that I thought “What the hell?” when I first heard about this marriage.  But, much to a lot of people’s surprise, they really seem to be making it work.  Mariah is even talking babies now.  So, I guess we have another Demi/Ashton on our hands.  Good for them!  I hope they are happy.

Kelly Rowland Dropped By Record Label

Kelly Rowland Interview with Essence: Brown is Beuatiful

Kelly Rowland has reportedly been dropped by her record label, only two months after she fired her manager, Matthew Knowles, according to Contact Music.

‘News of the World’ reports that Rowland was dumped by Columbia Records because they believe she is “no longer commercially viable,” even though her first two solo albums sold over 4 million copies worldwide.

Now, Kelly hasn’t had much such success as a solo artist in the States, but internationally she is a star.  I will try to stay positive with this post, but I smell a rat.  This is just a little too suspicious because we all know the “family”, which shall remain nameless, doesn’t like not being in control.  I never believed that sugaring press release about the split be amicable.  It will also be too convenient if she rehires her management…things that make you go hmm!

Do you believe “other forces” were at work to have Kelly dropped from Columbia Records?  Speak on it…

Madonna is Preparing for Another Malawain Adoption

Madonna and family are in Malawi, Africa as she prepares for another adoption.  Madonna flew to Malawi this weekend to start adoption preceedings of a 3-year-old named Mercy James.

A lot of people are questioning why white celebrities are adopting so many babies from Africa.  Some question the sincerity of it all.  I, for one, have loved Madonna since I was a little girl.  I have always loved how she did whatever she darn well please and said to hell with the criticism.  This adoption is no exception.  She is completely undeterred by the drama that accompanied the first adoption.  And lets be real, Madonna is Madonna and she can pretty much do whatever she wants.  Who cares where the children come from or if the race differs from the parents as long as the children are in a loving and nurturing home. 

Well that’s my two cents, what do you think?  Do you think Madonna is sincere in her reasons for adopting from Africa?  Speak on it…

Rihanna Has Moved On

Reportedly, while out clubbing in Hollywood– after her breakup with her alleged abuser Chris Brown–Rihanna was spotted flirting with Brody Jenner and Frankie Delgado.  I say, good for her.

While I am all for Rihanna moving on, I hope she finds a good guy this time.  And for the record, I do not believe that Brody or Frankie are interested in anything but using Rihanna’s fame to get more name recognition for themselves.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they or their “publicists” planted this story.

If the reported flirting is true, do you feel that Brody and Frankie’s intentions are honorable?  Speak on it…

I Pray This Isn’t True!

Vice President Joe Biden’s daughter Ashley my have gotten herself into an extremely serious and scandal-inducing situation involving drug use.  The 27-year-old social worker has a “friend” (with friends like those, who needs enemies) who’s shopping around a video of Ashley snorting cocaine at a party. The video appears to be legal as the friend claims Ashley knew she was being taped.

He contacted two lawyers who are helping him sell the footage – originally demanding a whopping $2 million from the New York Post, which refused.  He lowered the price to $400,000, but the Post still said no (no word on if that’s due to ethics or cost). They did, however, view the 90 seconds that appears to show Ashley snorting coke.

This all the Obama Administration needs!  Why don”t politicians’ children realize their actions will affect their family?  Like I said earlier, I pray that this is only a rumor and the video tape is a fake.  If this is true, then Democrats buckle yourself in securely because this will be a long and bumpy ride as the Republicans will have  a field day with this one……

Jordin Sparks // \"One Splendid Evening\" event sponsored by Carnival Cruise Lines

The cute and fiesty Jordin Sparks  attended the “One Splendid Evening” event sponsored by Carnival Cruise Lines in San Pedro, California.  The purpose of the event was to benefit VH1’s Save the Music Foundation.

I, personally, love Jordin Sparks.  I love how she spoke up for teen abstinence at the MTV Awards in regards to the purity rings.  I also love how she (Kelly Clarkson, also) have stayed true to herself and not become Hollywood “scary skinny”.  I think she sends a good message to young girls by showing them that females can have  meat on their bones and still be healthy and successful.  I applaud anyone who can remain an individual instead of submitting to peer pressure, especially Hollywood peer pressure.

What is your opinion, do you think Jordin’s look is a hit or a miss?  Speak on it…
